Sunset paddles with a ranger
In summer the park has offered ranger-led sunset paddles. A 2025 listing priced them at $35 for ages 12 and up and $20 for ages 8 to 11. Check the park's events calendar in spring for dates.
Make a day of it
- Paddle the coves in the morning, before the boat traffic builds. Paddle boards work well in the calmer coves.
- Hike the Iron Hill Trail (4 miles, gravel, open to hikers and bikers) after lunch.
- A short paved trail behind the park office leads to a reconstructed 1860s homestead, and works for strollers and wheelchairs.
- Pair it with the Allatoona Pass battlefield, which Red Top maintains.
